Teachers are the key: BeWEEN workshop by Centre for peace, nonviolence and human rights – Osijek

As part of the BeWEEN project, a workshop was held with the high school teachers from Vukovar in December 2022, where we introduced the teachers with the goals and priorities of the project and their key role in building awareness to protect themselves and students from numerous health and environmental risks when using online tools and technological devices.

At the workshop, the teachers gave us feedback on the educational materials developed as part of the BeWEEN training and connected the topics with the subjects they teach.
Given that they themselves were in a situation when the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus turned the teaching model in an exclusively digital direction, they shared with us their own work experiences and explained the challenges they faced.
They strenghtened their knowledge that they got through BeWEEN educational materials once again by participating in a knowledge quiz that was also an introduction to the educational mobile game that we will develop in the second year of the project implementation, and which we will test with the students.
In the last part of the workshop, the teachers devised topics and in groups wrote concepts for the teaching resources that they will develop and whose content will become part of the BeWEEN training.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their contribution and the effort they put in to make students aware of this topic!

The workshop was run by project coordinator Željka Geto, with the support of project assistant Tena Mur.
